Product Safety & Care
1. What this page is for
Every Two Waves lamp is an electrical product. Like any lamp, heater, or appliance you plug into a wall, it carries some inherent risk if it's damaged, modified, or used outside its intended purpose. This page explains how we build for safety, what "intended use" means, and what to do if something seems wrong.
2. How our lamps are made
- The electrical components — E27 socket, cord, and plug — are sourced from our manufacturing partner with supplier certification and datasheets on file for the Australian market.
- Each shell is 3D-printed in PLA (a stable, plant-based bioplastic), then hand-finished, assembled and signed in our Perth studio.
- We build to standard bulb wattage limits for an E27 fitting and use a warm 2700K LED bulb by default — LED bulbs run cool compared to incandescent, which is part of why we chose them.
3. Intended use
Two Waves lamps are designed as indoor decorative lighting only. To use your lamp safely:
- Indoor use only — never expose the lamp, cord or plug to rain, damp rooms (like an unventilated bathroom), or outdoor conditions.
- Use only a standard E27 bulb within the wattage marked on the base. Do not exceed it.
- Don't cover the lamp with fabric, paper or any material while it's switched on.
- Keep it away from direct heat sources, curtains, and anything flammable, the same as you would with any lamp.
- Don't leave it running unattended for extended periods, and switch it off if you notice flickering, an unusual smell, or a warm cord.
- Don't submerge, disassemble, or modify the electrical components. If the cord or plug is ever damaged, stop using it and contact us — the cord is replaceable by design.
- Keep it out of reach of young children and pets, as you would with any corded lamp.
4. If something seems wrong
If you notice any damage, unusual heat, a burning smell, or a fault of any kind, stop using the lamp immediately, unplug it, and contact us at hi@twowaves.com.au with a photo and your order number. We'll sort out a repair or replacement — see our Refund & Returns Policy.
5. Handmade variations
Because each shell is individually printed and finished, small variations in texture, finish and dimensions are normal and not defects.
6. Limitation of liability
This page doesn't change your rights — see Terms of Service and the consumer guarantees that apply under Australian Consumer Law, which nothing here excludes or limits.
