We're Leo and Orne. We sculpt every lamp ourselves, from a small studio off the Indian Ocean in Scarborough, Perth. No factory — every lamp is printed, finished and packed by the two of us, in small batches.
That's the whole promise of two waves: paired, patient, full of an energy that doesn't ask permission to keep coming. When your lamp arrives, you're holding a piece of exactly how we work — you'll feel it when it's on, and notice it when it's off.

The material
Grown from plants, not pumped from oil.
Every shell is printed in PLA — a plant-based bioplastic made from fermented corn starch, not petroleum. We chose it for the way it carries warm light, and because an object you keep for years shouldn't cost the planet a thing. Tap through what that actually means.
PLA is made from fermented corn starch — a renewable plant sugar, not crude oil. No petroleum, no toxic off-gassing, no harsh chemical smell. A material you can live beside, in the rooms you spend the most time in.
Printed in low, slow layers and finished by hand, each shell is rigid, stable and made to live with you for a decade — not a season. The bulb and cord are replaceable, so when something wears you repair it instead of binning it.
At the end of a long life the shell is fully recyclable and breaks down in an industrial composting facility — back to where it came from. Nothing here is destined for landfill.
Paired with a warm 2700K LED that runs cool and sips power. The PLA diffuser softens the light into an ember glow — gentle on the eyes, easy on the room, kind on your bill.

About four days, layer by layer. The printer lays down plant-based PLA in low, slow lines. The texture you see on the surface is the path of the nozzle, recorded permanently into form.

How long does shipping take?
Every lamp is in stock and ready — most orders ship the same or next business day. Free, tracked delivery Australia-wide, 3–5 business days from dispatch. Internationally: 7–14 business days.
What bulb does it use?
A standard E27 socket. Every Two Waves lamp ships with a warm 2700K, 5W LED bulb (806 lumens, CRI 90) — the right temperature for the diffuser, and easy to replace anywhere. It's not dimmable; there's an inline on/off switch on the cord.
Are the lamps really made in Perth?
Yes. Every lamp is sculpted in plant-based PLA in our Scarborough studio in Perth, Western Australia. Leo and Orne hand-finish every piece themselves before it ships — there's no factory in between.
What is PLA, and is it safe?
PLA is a plant-based bioplastic made from fermented corn starch — not petroleum. It's stable, odourless and safe to live with, and it's fully recyclable and compostable in industrial facilities at the end of its life.
Is every lamp exactly the same?
No two are perfectly identical — each one is shaped and finished by hand, so small variations in texture and finish are part of what makes it feel made, not manufactured.
Can I return it if it doesn't fit my space?
Of course. We offer a 30-night in-home trial — if the lamp isn't right for your room, send it back and we'll refund you in full. We'd rather it found the right home.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship to New Zealand and internationally, in 7–14 business days depending on destination. Every lamp is fitted with a standard Australian plug — if you're outside Australia or New Zealand, you'll need a travel adapter.
How do I clean and care for it?
Wipe the shell with a soft, dry or barely-damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasives, and never submerge it — it's an electrical piece. Switch it off and let it cool before cleaning.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
No — every Two Waves lamp is designed for indoor use only. The PLA shell and electrical components aren't weatherproofed for sun, rain, or humidity.
Can I use a different bulb?
Yes, any standard E27 bulb fits. We ship a warm 2700K LED because it suits the diffuser best — if you swap it, we'd recommend staying close to that warmth and to the wattage of the bulb we send.
Does it make a good gift?
It's one of the most common reasons people buy one. A lamp changes how a room feels the moment it's switched on — mention it's a gift when you message us and we'll make sure the packaging feels like one too.
Is it safe for Australian power?
Yes. The lamp runs on 240V / 50Hz through a moulded Australian plug and a fabric-covered flexible cord, with an inline on/off switch. The plug and cord are certified to AS/NZS 3112 and AS/NZS IEC 60227.5 and carry the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM). Indoor use only.
