Care guide

Living with your lamp.

Two Waves lamps are made to stay. A few small habits will keep yours looking — and feeling — like the day it left our studio.

Cleaning

A weekly wipe is all it asks.

The bioplastic shell needs nothing more than a soft dry cloth. For the texture grooves, a soft brush or a quick blast of compressed air keeps dust out of the wave lines.

Avoid water-based sprays and chemical cleaners — they can dull the matte surface.

Three habits

Small care, long life.

01

Dust monthly

A soft dry cloth, then a brush across the wave grooves. Less is more — never use water or chemical cleaners.

02

Avoid direct sun

Long, direct sunlight can slowly fade the color. Place the lamp where it lives by lamplight, not by daylight.

03

Replace bulbs as needed

Standard E27 fitting. Any warm 2700K LED works — we recommend 6W or less to keep the diffuser temperature low.

Care FAQ

If something happens.

How do I replace the bulb?

Unplug the lamp first. Lift the shade gently — the bulb sits in a standard E27 socket. Twist counter-clockwise to remove. Insert any warm 2700K LED bulb up to 6W and twist clockwise.

What if I scratch the shell?

Light scratches usually disappear with a soft microfiber cloth and a bit of patience. For deeper damage, write to us — we may be able to refinish or replace at a discount.

What if the lamp gets a stain?

Try a barely-damp soft cloth first. If a stain persists, a tiny drop of mild dish soap on a damp cloth — never solvents or alcohol. Always wipe dry afterwards.

Is the cord replaceable?

Yes. It's a fabric-covered 1.8m cord with a moulded Australian plug and an inline on/off switch, on a standard E27 fixture. If yours is damaged, stop using the lamp and write to us — we send replacements at cost plus shipping.

Can I take it outside?

The lamp is rated for indoor use only. The bioplastic and cord aren't designed for moisture or temperature extremes.

Is it certified for Australian power?

The lamp runs on 240V / 50Hz. Its plug and cord are certified to Australian standards — AS/NZS 3112 and AS/NZS IEC 60227.5 — and carry the Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM). Only ever fit an E27 LED bulb of 6W or less.
